Module 22 - Teaching Chair Yoga in Aged Care - 60 mins

This elective module equips you with the knowledge and skills to confidently teach Chair Yoga in aged care settings. You’ll explore how to adapt classes for older adults, including those living with arthritis, dementia, and other age-related health challenges.

Learn strategies for effective communication with people living with dementia, ensuring classes are inclusive, engaging, and safe. The module also covers essential safety considerations, class structure, and planning, helping you create sessions that support mobility, comfort, and wellbeing.

By the end, you’ll be able to teach Chair Yoga classes that are thoughtful, accessible, and tailored to meet the unique needs of older adults in the aged care environment, promoting both physical and mental wellbeing.

Cheryl has been teaching Chair Yoga for many years and has a real passion to share the inclusive practice of Chair Yoga with Seniors and the Aged Care Community. 

As our Seniors are such a large and important sector of our community, Cheryl loves to help residents to include some Yoga in their week and to enhance their days with the philosophy of a healthy body and mind through Yoga practice.  

She has worked in the Aged Care Sector & has lots of practical experience with people with mobility challenges, complicated health issues and those with dementia. She loves Chair Yoga because is a wonderful inclusive movement practice that is accessible to everyone. 

Cheryl also loves to travel & include Yoga wherever she goes!
