This elective module explores how to support and protect the hips and knees within a chair yoga practice. You’ll learn the basic anatomy of these joints, common causes of discomfort or injury, and how factors like posture, movement patterns and prolonged sitting can affect their function.
We look at how to adapt chair-based movements safely, including which poses to be mindful of and which can help create more space, stability and support. There is also a focus on understanding that mobility is not just about flexibility, and how strength, alignment and control all play a role in healthy movement.
By the end of this module, you’ll feel more equipped to work with the hips and knees in a practical and considered way, helping your students move with greater ease, stability and awareness.
